How to Set Your Egg Tray Sizes
Egg records are counted in trays and loose eggs, not a raw number. Set the right tray size once for each kind of bird, and every record and report counts them correctly from then on.

Step-by-step
Step 1: Eggs count in trays
Recording today's eggs, tap New Record, then Egg Records. The app counts full trays plus loose eggs — 30 to a tray by default, so 258 eggs shows as 8 trays and 18 loose.
Step 2: Set your tray size
Your trays hold a different number? Tap Tray settings right from the egg form. Egg Tray Sizes lists one size for each kind of bird — tap a bird's size, type the new number, such as 36, and it saves as soon as you leave the box. You can also find this screen under More, in Farm Settings.
Step 3: See the difference
Every egg record, past and future, is counted again using the new size — in your records and in sales. The same 258 eggs that were 8 trays and 18 loose at 30-a-tray become 7 trays and 6 loose at 36-a-tray. The egg count itself never changes, only how it's grouped into trays.
Common mistakes
- Assuming 30 is universal. Tray size varies by supplier and by bird — check yours instead of leaving the default.
- Setting one size for every bird. If you keep more than one kind of bird, each can have its own tray size; don't force them to match.
- Expecting past egg totals to change. Changing tray size changes how eggs are grouped into trays, not how many eggs were recorded.
