How to Add Products to Your Farm Shop

A product needs a name, a photo and a price before it can be ordered. Stock for eggs looks after itself once it is linked to your records.

Who it's for: any farm with a shop switched on. Plan: every plan, with a product limit by plan. Time: under 5 minutes per product.

What you need first

  • Your shop turned on — see our previous lesson if it is still locked.
  • What you are selling, in a customer's words, such as "Fresh farm eggs, from free-range hens, collected every morning."
  • The price for one unit, and whether you sell it in more than one size.

Step-by-step

Step 1: Open your shop

On the Home screen, tap More, then Selling, then My Farm Shop. With no products listed yet, tap Add Product.

Step 2: Name it and add a photo

Write the name and description the way a customer would read them, not the way you would note them in a ledger. Then tap Choose an image. A photo library made for farm produce opens — trays of eggs, cuts of meat, bottles of milk — so you are never stuck listing a product with no picture. Pick the one that matches, such as Tray of 30, or upload your own.

Step 3: Set the price

Set the price for one unit — for eggs, that is one tray. If you sell more than one size, such as small, medium and large trays, add each one with its own price instead of a single figure.

Step 4: Stock and publish

For egg products, turn on Eggs Inventory so the product's stock comes straight from your egg records — it goes up and down on its own as you record collection and sales, without a separate count to keep. Tap Add Product to finish. It appears in your shop immediately, with its price and how many you have available, such as "29 available."

Common mistakes

  • Writing the name for yourself, not the customer. "Eggs" tells a customer less than "Fresh farm eggs, from free-range hens, collected every morning."
  • Skipping the photo. A product with no image is easy to scroll past. Use the built-in photo library if you don't have your own picture yet.
  • One price for different sizes. If trays, bags or cuts come in more than one size, add each as its own priced option instead of averaging them into one price.
  • Hitting the product limit unexpectedly. The free plan stops at 3 listed products. Add Product opens the plans screen once you reach it — that is the limit, not a fault.

Frequently asked questions

How many products can I list?

3 on the free plan, 15 on the Growth plan, and unlimited on Scale and Enterprise. Add Product opens the plans screen once you reach your limit.

Does my product stock update by itself?

For eggs, yes: turn on Eggs Inventory and the product's stock follows your egg records, so it stays correct without you touching it. Other products track stock the way you set them up when you add them.

Can I sell the same product in different sizes or amounts?

Yes. Instead of one price, add sizes such as Small, Medium and Large, each with its own price. Customers pick the one they want when they order.

Where do product photos come from?

A photo library built for farm produce, so you are not stuck with no image or a stock photo that does not match. You can also upload your own.
