How to See What's Running Low in Your Farm Inventory

Inventory puts everything your farm holds on one page. What needs you first sits at the top, so you can buy more before it runs out, and every tile opens the stock behind it.

Who it's for: anyone who keeps feed, medicine or other stock and would rather not run out. Plan: every plan. Time: a glance.

What you need first

Step-by-step

Step 1: Open your inventory

On the Home screen, tap More. Under Stock & supplies, tap Inventory. What needs you first is at the top, then everything you have.

Step 2: See what is running low

Running low lists whatever will run out first. Feed shows how many days it will last at the rate you have fed it over the past 30 days, and appears here once that is a week or less: Layers Mash, 75 kg, 5 days remaining. Tap it to see its stock: 500 kg came in, 425 kg went out.

A medicine counts as low once a fifth or less of what came in is left. Ivermectin 1% has 80 ml left of the 500 ml that came in, so it shows Low Stock. Time to buy more. Tap it to open it; go back to the Medicine Store and every medicine is listed, the low ones marked.

Step 3: Open any stock

Below that, Everything in stock has a tile for each kind of stock: Livestock, Feed, Medicine, Eggs, Milk, Harvests and Farm Inputs. Medicines are counted and the low ones flagged: 7 medicines, 1 low on stock.

A tile with an arrow opens the stock behind it. Tap Feed and the Feed Store opens, with every feed you keep. The same tiles are on Home, too: switch to Dashboard and open its Inventory tab.

Step 4: Count your animals

Scroll down. Livestock by Animal Type shows your animals by kind, such as 342 chickens of 366 animals. Livestock by Batch shows them by batch, such as 292 in the ISA Brown batch, each with its share of the total.

Common mistakes

  • Expecting days left without feeding records. The estimate comes from the feed you recorded going out over the past 30 days. Record your feedings, and the days left follow.
  • Not recording medicine as it comes in. A medicine is judged low against what came in. Record each purchase in the Medicine Store so the warning means something.
  • Looking for an add button. Inventory is a view, not a form. You record stock where it lives: the Feed Store, the Medicine Store and Farm Inputs. Tap a tile to go there.

Frequently asked questions

When does feed show as running low?

When it will last a week or less at the rate you have fed it over the past 30 days. The app needs Feed Out records from that period to work this out.

When is a medicine low on stock?

When there is still some left, but no more than a fifth of what came in. For example, 80 ml left of the 500 ml that came in counts as low.

Why don't I see a Running low section?

Nothing is running low, so the section stays hidden. If you expected feed there, check that your feedings are recorded as Feed Out records.

Where do I see how long each feed will last?

Open the Feed Store and its Reports tab. Each feed shows what is left, how much you use per day and the days left at this rate.

Can I see my inventory from the Home screen?

Yes. Switch Home to Dashboard and open its Inventory tab. The same tiles are there.
